'Argo' Actor Victor Garber Comes Out

"Argo" star Victor Garber has confirmed that he is gay, and has been living with his longtime partner, artist Rainer Andreesen, in Modern York.

Garber first talked about his relationship with Andreesen to blogger Greg Hernandez, who asked the actor to confirm that he's gay after it was revealed on Wikipedia that the 63-year-old lives with another man, according to E! News.

When Hernandez asked Garber if his relationship with Andreesen had ever been made public, Garber said, "I don't really talk about it but everybody knows." He added, "He's going to be out here with me for the SAG Awards." The couple has been together for about 14 years. Andreesen is the face of the Perry Ellis Spring 13 Men's ad campaign.

On the heels of the actress' cryptic Golden Globes coming-out speech, Argo performer Victor Garber has also confirmed that he's a gay guy and has been quietly living with his longtime partner, painter Rainer Andreesen, in New York, E! News confirms. 

Garber first spoke of his relationship with Rainer to blogger Greg Hernandez, who pressed the Titanic actor to publicly confirm that he's gay after learning via Wikipedia that the 63-year-old star is partnered with a man. 

Hernandez detailed the interaction—which took place at the TV Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, Calif.—on his blog, characterizing how he flat-out asked the former Alias star if his partnership with Rainer had ever been made public, and noted that Garber seemed surprised by the question:

"I don't really talk about it but everybody knows," Garber told Hernandez before adding, "He's going to be out here with me for the SAG Awards."

In a recent interview character actor Victor Garberconfirmed that he is gay. Garber is currently on-screen in the much-lauded hit film Argo, in which he plays the Canadian ambassador. The Argoensemble cast has been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Canadian-born Garber, 63, lives in New York City’s West Village with his spouse, portrait artist Rainer Andreesen, age 49. Andreesen has also done modeling perform for Armani, Gucci, Valentino, Hugo Boss and Ermenegildo Zegna. Victor and Rainer have been partners for thirteen years, and on Sunday, January 27, they plan to go to the SAG Awards ceremony in Los Angeles as a couple.

Garber also appears in the current TV series Deceptionand has been nominated six times for an Emmy award. Among his clip roles are shipbuilder Thomas Andrews in Titanicand San Francisco mayor George Moscone in Milk. He has also appeared frequently on stage, earning four Tony Award nominations.

I didn’t plan on asking Victor Garber about his private life.

During the recent TV Critics Association Compress Tour in Pasadena, the actor was onstage with the cast of the new NBC drama Deception and I knew that I’d want to chat with him one-on-one after the panel.

So I rapidly looked at his Wikipedia page and there it was: ‘He lives in New York with his companion of 13 years, Rainer Andreesen.’ I then found all kinds of photos of this most handsome couple together.

I wondered, ‘Did he come out publicly and I missed it?’

After the panel, I still had that scrutinize in mind as I talked to Garber about the new series, his role in Argo and whether or not he was going to act a guest spot on Smash which was also stated on Wikipedia.

“Wikipedia is bullshit,’ Garber said in telling me he was not doing Smash.
