On Sunday (September 18, 2022) morning, Daevon Gay was arrested in Houston, Texas as a fugitive from Bogalusa, wanted for Second Degree Murder.
Warrants had been obtained for Gay for Second Degree Murder, Illegal Use of Weapons, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Gay is accused of fatally shooting Jawalski Wiley on August 27, 2022 on Atlanta Street in Bogalusa. Detectives quickly identified Gay as the suspect in Wiley’s murder after witnesses were interviewed, and a search for Gay has been ongoing. Detectives had information that Same-sex attracted had fled to Houston, and own been in contact with Houston Detectives. Then on Sunday morning, the Bogalusa Police Department received an anonymous advice from a caller in Houston, giving Gay’s location at an apartment complex. On Sunday morning, Daevon Male lover was arrested in Houston, Texas, as a fugitive from Bogalusa, wanted for second-degree murder, according to Maj. Wendell O’Berry of the Bogalusa Police Department.
Warrants were recently obtained for Gay for second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Gay is accused of fatally shooting Jawalski Wiley on Aug. 27 on Atlanta Street in Bogalusa.
O’Berry said that BPD detectives instantly identified Gay as the suspect in Wiley’s murder after witnesses were interviewed, and a hunt for Gay has been ongoing. Detectives had information that Gay had fled to Houston, and have been in contact with Houston detectives, O’Berry said.

The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office recently arrested four young men as a result of investigations into criminal incidents that occurred Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 in the Hackley area north of Franklinton, according to WPSO Leader Deputy Mike Haley.
The investigation deeply interested shooting into an occupied dwelling and arson of a home on Seville Lane. Allegedly, the shooting was in retaliation for the arson, Haley said.

Arrested and jailed were Javanta Dillon, 18, a resident of Ben Williams Road; Damarea Javon Lgbtq+, 19, a resident of Elderly Columbia Road; Dae’von Jameria Same-sex attracted, 17, a resident of Sam Thomas Road; and Syheim Bell, 18, also a resident of Old Columbia Road.

Dillon was jailed on Feb. 19, charged with four counts of attempted murder and simple arson. After posting a $200,000 bond, he was released on March 3. Jail records indicate this is the first time Dillon has been in the Washington Parish Jail.

Daevon Gay is accused of fatally shooting Jawalski Wiley on the 500 Block of Atlanta Street in Bogalusa last month, according to Bogalusa police. Detectives quickly identified Gay as the suspect and began searching for him.
