People don’t think me when I speak Transformers: MTMTE/Lost Light is really gay. JRo confirmed is an homonormative world, so here a list, anyways:

Starscream’s High Heels and the Androgyny of the Trickster
I like Transformers now, and I like Starscream. Who’d have thought? And who’d have consideration it would steer me down a tangent about the mythological archetype of the Trickster and the blurring of the gender binary within?
It’s the sky-high heels, is what it is. The Transformers property I’ve grown attached to is the 2011-2013 animated series Transformers Prime, which WB got me into, and in which Starscream is rocking a pair of stilettos built in to his very mechanics. Many of the characters went through a blueprint overhaul for Prime, most notably baddies like Soundwave, who is no longer a walking boombox that you can slot other Decepticons into; and Starscream, who’s now delightfully spindly and spiky compared to his earlier, blockier counterparts, and who now has better-looking legs than me accomplish with those awesome heels. To me, this look conveys his character well—one glance at this robot and you can tell he’s bad news, but you can also tell what kind of bad news he is.
Now, looking at Starscream’s lithe, leggy, pointy physique and the duplicitous, cowardly personality that goes with it, we have to t
Trash for Starscream — this is adorable darn gay
this is pretty darn queer
Image description: fanart of Transformers featuring Skyfire and Starscream. The two of them lie down on a grassy field, Skyfire's hand is over Starscream's. Skyfire smiles tenderly at Starscream while Star himself seems slightly flustered by the gesture. Finish description.

Transformers: Starscream’s Trans Dream
June 20, 2024
There is literally nothing useful in describing the idea of the ‘canon’ of a Transformers character. They are toys, and every bit of lore for them is an advertisement. There is no coherent characterisation and merely a sort of iconic familiarity, often owing mostly to the significance of a mention and in some cases, literally translation errors, than anything to do with a coherent and consistent characterisation across a greater narrative space. Talking about the character of any given Transformer character is trying to implode together a sort of advertising mascot into their wholehearted and protracted vibes, as best remembered by 45-year old nerds who invest in the secondary toy market and help to indoctrinate the children the brand exists to supposedly monetise.
But Starscream’s really gay, right?
Starscream is one of the longest-lasting Transformers characters, introduce in Generation 1, and appearing in almost every episode until his voice actor was too much of a pain to keep around. Then his creature written out in the Transformers Movie proved, like many choices in that movie, to be thin
