SarahMcLachlansquasheda few rumors about her sexuality in a new interview with PrideSource's Chris Azzopardi.
The 46-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter tells Azzopardi that while she's no stranger to kissing girls, she's nonetheless "pretty straight."
"Let me just put it this way: I've never had sex with a woman," McLachlan, who divorced her drummer, Ashwin Sood, in September 2008, revealed. "I've made out with more than one woman, but it just sort of happened. And there may have been alcohol involved with one of them."
Acknowledging her considerable lesbian, gay, fluid and transgender (LGBT) fanbase, McLachlan added, "I am such a strong advocate for gay and lesbian rights because I truly believe that we are all equal. We should be proficient to choose whom we affectionate and how we love, and it's not anybody's goddamn business, really."
She singled out her lesbians fans in particular as "a really intelligent audience," before noting, "I don't even know how I could tell that, but I just remember this feeling of, wow, this is just a great, great audience."
Her modern album, "Shine On," is due out May 6.

In a previous announce, I discussed Hugh Van Cuylenburg’s novel, Let Go: It’s time to enable go of shame, expectation and our addiction to social media. In that discussion, I highlighted Hugh’s very robust conviction that vulnerability leads to original connections, which are essential for positive mental health. This conviction led to the creation, with his brother Josh and Ryan Shelton, of a podcast titled The Imperfects. Interestingly, the first episode of the podcast involved an extended interview with Missy Higgins.
Hugh chose Missy Higgins for this first episode because he had noticed on her Instagram that she was reading Johann Hari’s book, Lost Connections: Uncovering the Real Causes of Depression. This selection proved a masterstroke as it arrange the foundation for subsequent episodes where people were encouraged to share their vulnerabilities and struggles. Missy Higgins proved to be disarmingly honest, open and highly vulnerable.

There were a number of key areas of her experience that Missy Higgins explored with Hugh in the podcast (August, 2019), which was titled, Quitting Music, De Grammy Award-winning singer Sarah McLachlan sets the tape straight about her sexuality.

In an interview with Michigan gay weekly Pride Cause, the 46-year-old McLachlan was asked when she became aware of her enormous gay following.
"Probably Boston 1991," McLachlan answered. "It was with my second write down [Solace] and I retain going to do a gig in Boston. I hung out with a lot of women after the show and, uhh, there was one bartender in particular who was really hot!"

McLachlan was asked in a follow up question her thoughts on the public's interest in her sexuality.
"People are always interested in how people bend. I've never shied away from it. I mean, I'm pretty straight. Let me just put it this way: I've never had sex with a gal. I've made out with more than one lady, but it just sort of happened. And there may have been alcohol involved with one of them."
