I'm totally unfamiliar with Rapid Town, so I'm curious what the general attitude is toward gays and lesbians there. Is there an active same-sex attracted community? Is the community overly conservative, or is it liberal? Would a gay person uncover acceptance and friends there?

South Dakota is renown for being a very conservative state, so finding overwhelming acceptance of a lgbtq+ lifestyle is out of the scrutinize. However, most people are accepting of a new person and are mature enough to observe more than their sexual preference. Rapid City has a small gay scene. I hear that The Brass Rail bar downtown has evolved into a gay bar and I have seen same sex couples being intimate in public a several times.
