no, the gay population isn't necessarily in better shape in Alabama. Younger guys, yes.

For the OP, there are not any openly gay places that fit your criteria. There are a couple of queer bars/clubs. This is not San Fran or a large metro area. You will want to commute to Hotlanta for any major gay scenes in the south.
